Project Overview
Eleve Apartments in Humble is built for resort living. The courtyard pool area pairs two connected free-form pools with a sweeping, layered deck, and natural flagstone coping traces every curve. Sun shelves with in-water loungers let residents cool off without leaving their seat, and a raised stone planter wall frames the main pool with greenery.
Wide stair entries make the water easy to get into, while a sunken lounge with deep-cushioned seating gives residents a place to gather. Around the edge, grilling stations, shaded dining tables and rows of chaise lounges turn the pool deck into a full outdoor living room.
Palm trees, layered planting and a secure perimeter finish the design, which is striking from above and comfortable at ground level.
The Challenge
The landscape planters sit right next to the pool, and the water scuppers come out of the same walls. That makes waterproofing and pressure testing critical to prevent leaks.
What We Did
As part of the commercial pool construction, we pressure test all of our pipes at install and again throughout construction. We waterproof the entire inside of the planter, including the pipe fitting holes.
We also install sleeved drainage over a rock base, so irrigation and rain water are carried out of the landscape bed before they can overflow into the pool.
