Copper Bottom

Project Overview

Copper Bottom is a custom swimming pool and backyard in Tomball, Texas, made for both daytime lounging and evening entertaining. The geometric pool wraps around a raised, tiled spa, and a tanning ledge with in-water loungers runs along one side.

At the back of the pool, a raised feature wall carries fire along its top with water spilling below. A warm wood-look plank deck surrounds the water. At twilight, the underwater lighting and the glow of the fire light up the whole yard under the tall pines.

The Challenge

The design called for turf grass inlaid into the ¾” tile deck. This creates small pockets where water can hold.

What We Did

As part of the pool construction, we installed drains under all of the turf grass and connected them into the main deck drains. This way, water does not hold in the small pockets where the turf meets the tile, and the pool deck stays clean and easy to enjoy.
