Project Overview
Clean lines, dark water and warm wood define this modern backyard in Sugar Land. A black-tiled pool with perimeter overflow edges sits flush with large-format pavers. Above it, a steel-framed pergola releases a cascading rain curtain into the raised spa.
A rich hardwood deck connects the indoor living spaces to the water, and slatted wood screens add privacy and texture. At dusk, the lit pergola, glowing pool and architectural lighting make the yard look like a boutique resort.
The Challenge
Build a full pool with a vanishing edge and a mirror-top look, set right into the structure of the home. Many rooms needed to enjoy the view of the water, and there still had to be a walkway between the house and the pool.
What We Did
We built a narrow basin, 12” wide by 3’ deep, around the entire pool, and it also flows directly into the shallow Master Retreat area. (4) 3-hp pumps are dedicated only to creating the overflow effect.
Together, they give this luxury pool in Sugar Land its vanishing edge and mirror-top look, which the rooms around the pool can enjoy every day.
